The solution
autoSense partnered with Planet from the start to enable secure, flexible, and scalable payments tailored to its evolving business model. Initially developed to support digital fuel payments with Planet’s Datatrans platform, the solution enabled users to create a single payment profile that could be reused across multiple merchants, each with their own merchant account, without autoSense ever touching the funds. This architecture ensured full PCI DSS compliance while delivering a seamless experience for the merchant.
As autoSense transitioned to EV charging, the partnership proved even more valuable. Datatrans’s tokenization and secure credential management supported autoSense’s payment security from the beginning, and now also enabled app-based payments for charging stations, where no physical payment infrastructure exists. The integration supports a wide range of payment methods, including local options like TWINT.
Planet’s flexible implementation paths also aligned with autoSense’s Flutter-based app, delivering flexibility and tailored solutions to their customers. With expert guidance from Planet, autoSense continues to refine its solution to meet customer needs as the company expands across Europe.

Over the eight-year partnership, Planet has supported autoSense’s growth with a highly secure and reliable payment infrastructure, without a single instance of fraud or security breach. This trust in the system has enabled the company to scale rapidly and is now processing the number of transactions it once handled in a full year within a single month.
The flexibility of Planet’s solution has allowed autoSense to support a wide range of payment flows within a secure and adaptable framework. In 2025, autoSense began its international expansion beyond Switzerland, continuing its collaboration with Planet to support global OEM and car brand partnerships and access to over a million EV charging points across Europe.
